Where to find Handward Cottage

Handward Cottage is situated at Anakiwa near the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough Sounds, South Island, New Zealand.

Picton (Ferry) & Havelock

Picton and Havelock are the closest towns.
Anakiwa is a 30 minute (25 kilometres) drive from Picton and the South Island terminal for Interisland Ferries. Picton airport is 7 kilometres south of the town at Koromiko on State Highway No 1. Anakiwa is a 20 minute (19 kilometres) drive from Havelock’s location on State Highway No 6 between Nelson and Blenheim.

Blenheim (Airport)

Blenheim is Marlborough’s capital and commercial centre and hub of the celebrated wine region. Anakiwa is a 45 minute (60 kilometres) drive from Blenheim via Picton or Havelock. Marlborough’s main airport at Woodbourne is 5 kilometres west of Blenheim on State Highway No 6.

Driving Directions:

Arriving from the Picton direction, follow the Queen Charlotte Drive for 21 kilometres to the Anakiwa Road turnoff at Linkwater. Travel 4 kilometres down Anakiwa Road to the Lady Cobham Grove intersection. Handward Cottage and Garden are situated 500 metres up the narrow gravel road.

Arriving from the Havelock direction, follow the Queen Charlotte Drive for 15 kilometres to the Anakiwa Road turnoff at Linkwater. Travel 4 kilometres down Anakiwa Road to the Lady Cobham Grove intersection. Handward Cottage and Garden are situated 500 metres up the narrow gravel road.
